How to raise Awareness for the Value of Historical Buildings? Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Historical buildings in Dar es Salaam are slowly being replaced by high rise buildings. Those which are still standing unfortunately are often not in the best conditions. The added value and potential of having historical buildings in the city centre for tourism have not been recognized yet. It is not too late to preserve these structures which give Dar’s city centre a unique atmosphere and reflect its history. But how to develop advocacy for preservation and awareness for the value of these building? How to finance necessary upgrading measures?
