Guerrilla-Art on Temporary Safety Bollards, Melbourne, Australia.

In June 2017 temporary safety bollards were installed in pedestrian malls across the CBD in Melbourne, Australia, as a means of preventing terror attacks in response to the Bourke Street Tragedy. Seemingly overnight these structures became covered in paint, lego, yarn and stencil art, hiding their bare grey surface. The #bollart movement in Melbourne has turned these boring structures into canvases for political statements and encouraged community unity in light of tragedy.
